Parveen was born in 1953 in Uran.  Parveen's father is Moinuddin Tungekar and her mother is Kulsum Khot.  Her paternal grandparents were A.Rehman Tungekar and Fatima Ghayas. She had eight brothers and three sisters, named A.Rehman, Ashfaq, Altaf, Zaheer, Zulfiqar, Shakeel, Shahid, Almas, Asiya, Lubna and Yasmeen.  She is the sixth oldest of the twelve children.
